The Connecticut Alliance of Recovery Residences is working with the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) to become the CT Affiliate of NARR. As such, CTARR certifies recovery residences that meet the NARR Standard.

CTARR is a CT non-stock corporation and a 501c3 nonprofit. CTARR’s founding board is from the addiction treatment and recovery communities who support the NARR Standard.

CTARR’s mission is to support CT recovery residences to practice the national standard for recovery residences while improving the availability and quality of recovery housing options for persons seeking and sustaining long term recovery in CT.

  • Inspect and Certify recovery residences that meet the NARR Standard.
  • Deliver Opioid Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND) events and data collection in recovery homes in CT with an approved protocol in place from the Yale University Institutional Board. To date, over 13 recovery residences have received OEND training.
  • Offer recovery residence-specific training and education.
  • Maintain and forum for exchanging best practices, solving problems, providing guidance and advocating for their members as well as those whom they serve.
  • Develop an online mechanism on their website for residents, family members, and the community at large to file a grievance against a CTARR member house.
  • Member homes will participate in a scholarship agreement to assist individuals who are unable to cover the initial move-in fees on their own or with the support of family and friends.
  • Collaboratively work with state legislatures to pass and adopt meaningful recovery house legislations.
